Digital Media Kit is a flash memory diagnostic and repair tool for Windows users. The software is designed to effectively analyze and benchmark your removable media, measure the drive's performance, scan for errors, check the health status, securely erase all data, and even attempt a repair on your removable media. so you will be able to know when to replace your memory cards – before it is too late!
This software uses unique testing algorithms to scan your media and give a complete report about your media's performance and condition. The convenient and intuitive interface enables you to diagnose your media with just a few clicks.
Digital Media Kit for Windows works with most USB, FireWire and card readers. and compatible with all camera formats from Digital Backs to Point-and-Shoot, It can test & diagnose the memory card from Android Phones, Tablets, Digital Cameras, Camcorders, Palm Pilots, MP3 players, Surface, Digital Recorders and other media devices.
Diagnostic testing will test many modes of read and write to determine the integrity of the digital media:
- The random read/write operation will randomly read/write test the selected number of blocks at a time over the entire media and report any errors encountered.
- The Sequential read/write operation will sequentially read/write test the selected number of blocks at a time over the entire media and report any errors encountered.
- The butterfly read/write operation will read/write test the selected number of blocks at a time between extreme block addresses to test address seeks over the entire media and report any errors encountered.
- Sequential Write
- Butterfly Write
- Random Access Write
Note: The write tests will over-write any data on the digital media. The data will not be recoverable. Being certain of the media contents before running write tests is strongly advised.
Benchmark testing will test many modes of read and write to determine the performance of the digital media.
- The Sequential read/write operation will sequentially read/write test the selected number of blocks at a time for the defined maximum time read and/or the defined maximum data read.
- The random read/write operation will randomly read/write test the selected number of blocks at a time for the defined maximum time read and/or the defined maximum data read.
- The butterfly read/write operation will read/write test the selected number of blocks at a time between extreme block addresses to test address seeks for the defined maximum time read and/or the defined maximum data read.
The USB and Memory Card repair portion will allow you to Wipe, Format, Backup, and repair your removable media.
- The wipe will over-write the media with either all zeroes or random data. This will eliminate any data previously on the media. This is usually done to securely erase data from the media or wipe the media prior to a restore.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE WIPE AND RESTORE WILL OVER-WRITE ANY DATA ON YOUR MEDIA. IT WILL NOT BE RECOVERABLE. IT IS STRONGLY ADVISED TO BE CERTAIN OF THE CONTENTS OF THE MEDIA, AND BACKUP THE MEDIA BEFORE RUNNING A WIPE OR RESTORE!!
- Formatting will eliminate previous file table data and will make the media ready to restore from the backup made by Digital Media Kit. Formatting can also be used to prepare new media for use in your device. It is highly recommended that after formatting in the PC, you also format or initialize the media in the device it is being used. This usually eliminates any problems with a device not recognizing a new media being used for the first time.
- Restore by default will show the file name and location of the backup made by Digital Media Kit. If you are using a different backup image, then you can browse and select that image to restore to the media.
Restore can be used for restoring to a new media, or for restoring back to the same media it was backed up from.
